This little not-ready-to-fledge robin chick was likely blown out of the nest from the previous night's rain and wind storm. The man who found him set up a ring camera to see what would transpire before contacting us. While the parent tried to feed the baby, it wasn't successful. The little bird seemed confused and didn't open his mouth inspite of the adult bird's efforts. Additionally, mites were evident and flies were beginning to swarm about the infant. The decision to bring the little bird in for help was the right one. Definitely dehydrated and showing symptoms of discomfort...this little bird has difficulty swallowing. Treatment has started, and we hope the care we provide will give him the boost he needs to recover.
